Twelve Eatery is a new vegan restaurant in Bournemouth, it’s only been open for a couple of weeks but I’ve been desperate to visit so yesterday we decided to go and check it out.
I’m always super excited to check out new 100% vegan cafes and restaurants because it’s so nice not to have to worry about accidentally being served dairy or cross contamination. Plus vegans usually know vegan food best so put a bit more effort in than non-vegan restaurants who sometimes lack imagination and just stick a falafel burger on the menu!!
The Twelve Eatery menu is really nice and simple..
My ultimate favourite meal before going vegan was carbonara so I went for that and it did not disappoint, it was actually the best carbonara I’ve ever had. So delicious, I honestly would give it a 10/10, the only negative was that the portion was a little bit small but maybe I’m just greedy 😉
I should probably mention that if you don’t like rich, creamy dishes then you might not want to choose this. Matt was going to go for the burger but they had sold out so he chose the same as me and he didn’t enjoy it because he hates creamy things! Whereas I live for creamy things. No reflection on the carbonara, just a bad choice by him. He always picks the wrong thing when we eat out!
Cherry had the mac n cheese from the side dishes menu, we asked for no truffle oil which wasn’t a problem and she loved it.
Tiger, who is our fussiest eater, just had a portion of fries. They had the skin on which would usually be a major drama but the chips were so yummy and actually tasted like doughnuts so that won him over and he ate them!
The staff were all lovely and I love the way the way it’s been decorated.
They have an amazing juice and smoothie menu which we didn’t try as I get too full up to eat after drinking smoothies but I would be in there all the time if I lived closer.
