How amazing was the weather over the bank holiday weekend?! I literally live for this time of year when we start getting the first warm days, nothing makes me happier than the sun and I sat outside for every minute it was out as I didn’t want to waste a single bit, you don’t get much here in the UK! Absolutely crazy to think it was only two months ago we were sledging in snow!
We had the most perfect few days, time spent at the beach with the other families on our road, the kids had lots of water fights and we had a visit from my sister who I rarely see as she lives really far away. I just find it so easy to be positive and happy when the sun is out.
On Sunday morning we decided to go bluebell hunting, it’s been an annual tradition of ours for a few years now. For the last couple of years we’ve been going to Wayford Woods (near Crewkerne in Somerset) but this year we decided to go somewhere closer. My friend had taken me there a few days before and I knew Matt would love it so I wanted to go back with him, and my camera 😉
Langdon Hill woods is just off the A35, before you get to Chideock, it’s owned by the National Trust so you need to pay to park, if you don’t have a membership (50p an hour). There is a little play trail and the walk is a circular walk with some fun areas to stop and climb / enjoy the view along the way. You can also head over to Golden Cap about half way round but we didn’t do this as the kids moan when walking for too long!
The views are awesome and you have a sea view for some of it, there is also a big verge you can climb up to find huge trees that have fallen over, the kids loved climbing up them. This is also where we found the sea of bluebells.
Langdon Hill woods is a great place to go for a family walk, not just for bluebell hunting either, I’m looking forward to seeing it change through the seasons. I can’t wait to see it in Autumn.
If you want to visit then you can find details about it here.
